Compared to June 2021, house sales in Turkey jumped by 11.7% to reach 150,509 units. With 27,998 home sales and an 18.6% share, Istanbul was on the top of the list. Then, Ankara and Izmir followed it with 13,303 and 8,243 home sales, respectively. However, The lowest number of house sales in Turkey were in the provinces of Hakkari, Ardahan, and Bayburt.

This year has been one of the most successful times for the real estate sector in Turkey. In fact, property sales have been increasing since January 2022. In fact, when compared to the same time of last year, the number of houses sold over the period of January-June climbed by 31.4%, with 726,398 homes sold.

In June, 8,630 homes were sold to foreigners. Thus, we can conclude a rise of 81.8 percent from the same month in the previous year. Moreover, housing sales made to international buyers in June  2022 constitutes 5.7 % of the total home sales in Turkey. Besides,  Istanbul came in first place with 3,906 sales to overseas customers. Antalya followed it with 2,0534 home sales. While Mersin comes in 3rd place with 428 transactions.

Consequently, this leads us to conclude a 72,7% increase between January to June 2022 compared to the same time last year, reaching 35,383 units.

Most house sales in Turkey were made to Russians

We have noticed in recent months a remarkable increase in to-Russians property sales. Likewise, June was not an exception, and Russian nationals kept first place among the international buyers in the Turkish real estate market this year.

In fact, Russian citizens purchased 1,887 homes in Turkey in June 2022. Iran citizens followed them with  987 homes. While Iraqis got the 3rd position with 807 home sales.

First-time houses

When compared to the same month last year, first-time home sales in Turkey grew by 11.6% in June 2022, reaching thus 44,732 sales. Moreover, In Turkey, first-time sales made up 29.7% of all home sales. Therefore, first-time home sales grew from January to June by 24.2 % over the same period the year before and totaled 208,451.

Second-hand properties

However, second-hand home sales in Turkey grew by 11.8% in June, reaching  105,777. Therefore,  When compared to the same period the year before, second-hand home sales surged between January and June by 34.6 percent, with 517,947 sales.
